Glendo State Park in Wyoming is a beautiful, under-utilized recreational area just under 3 hours outside of Denver. Glendo State Park is a 22,000 acre park in Platte County Wyoming, on and around Glendo Reservoir. There are 10,000 acres of land and 12,000 acres of water, 45 miles of multi-use, non-motorized trails, which make for excellent trail adventures. With sweeping views of the reservoir itself, as well as working dam, and hydro electric plant, this unique area is not one to be missed.
This is an excellent event for those looking to test or fine tune their night running skills. First time running in the dark? First time using a headlamp to navigate? Trying to practice staying up all night for your next ultra? This race aims to prepare you for your longer races later in the season. The Sunrise Scramble is a fun, safe way to hit the trails in the twilight.
Our home base will be the Two Moons Campground and runners will head out on loops of varying distances (from 1-13 miles). The idea will be to time your loops so that you finish all that you are aiming for before the sun officially pokes it’s head out. We have three different timed event lengths that you can sign up for 3 hours, 5 Hours, and ~10 hours. The full length event will be from sunset to sunrise which is about 10 hours that evening.

Race Rules
No littering, anyone found to be intentionally littering will be disqualified.
Stay on course. If you get of course, please do your best to return to where you went off and continue along your designated loop.
Be Kind - Anyone found being rude to other runners, staff, park staff, or spectators will be disqualified.
At the start of each loop the runner must check in with the timer and tell them what loop they just came off of, and what loop they are heading out on.
No dogs with runners, they are not allowed to accompany runners on any of the loops.
No Pacers.
No Crew outside of the road crossings, and the main aid station. Crew cannot provide aid from the road but can sit to cheer people on.
If you are leaving on Loop 5 you must have AT LEAST 1 liter of water and 300 calories in your pack. You must show the course timer that you have both before leaving on this loop.
When you are done with your last loop, we don’t mind if you just do one, or you want to be out there till 5:59am, but you must tell the timer that you are DONE. Once you have reported that you have completed your race, you may not go back out on the course.
In case of muddy or wet trail conditions (it is April so this will be highly probable) please run directly through the section in order to decrease trail damage.
Mandatory Gear: Headlamp, Taped Seam Rain Jacket, extra batteries, hat, gloves, & whistle. These will be checked when you pick up your bib and before you go out on Loop 5.
No Poles on the first loop - we are all running the same one and we want to make sure everyone is safe. We will have saw horses set up at start/finish to stage your poles so that you can get them after the first loop.
We don’t disallow headphones, but we do recommend that you keep at least one of them out, you are running at night, where there is wildlife, and you should on alert.
HAVE FUN!
